چکیده

Fabrication of steel molds is a major expense (time and cost) in ceramic injection molding research development. 3D printed resin for fast prototyping are therefore highly attractive have gained increasing attention. This paper reports strategies to use sacrificial by fused deposition modeling (FDM) from PVA or digital light processing (DLP) water soluble resin. Usage allows complex geometries, which not accessible simple two-part molds. Ceramic heating elements diverse geometries were molded using composite feedstock containing MoSi2, Al2O3 feldspar. More parts with various produced feedstock. A comparison revealed that DLP better suited very small structural features due the higher resolution process as compared FDM. Finally, heaters fabricated two-component successfully tested.

Rapid and low-cost prototyping of medical devices using 3D printed molds for liquid injection molding.

Biologically inert elastomers such as silicone are favorable materials for medical device fabrication, but forming and curing these elastomers using traditional liquid injection molding processes can be an expensive process due to tooling and equipment costs. As a result, it has traditionally been impractical to use liquid injection molding for low-cost, rapid prototyping applications. We have ...

Injection Compression Molding of Replica Molds for Nanoimprint Lithography

As a breakthrough in the cost and durability of molds for nanoimprint lithography (NIL), replica molds are fabricated by injection compression molding (ICM). ICM is commonly used for optical disks such as DVDs or Blu-ray disks and is also a practical fabrication method for nanostructures. In this paper, I successfully demonstrated the fabrication of cycloolefin polymer replica molds with struct...

Water-soluble sacrificial layers for surface micromachining.

This manuscript describes the use of water-soluble polymers for use as sacrificial layers in surface micromachining. Water-soluble polymers have two attractive characteristics for this application: 1) They can be deposited conveniently by spin-coating, and the solvent removed at a low temperature (95-150 degrees C), and 2) the resulting layer can be dissolved in water; no corrosive reagents or ...

simulation and experimental studies for prediction mineral scale formation in oil field during mixing of injection and formation water

abstract: mineral scaling in oil and gas production equipment is one of the most important problem that occurs while water injection and it has been recognized to be a major operational problem. the incompatibility between injected and formation waters may result in inorganic scale precipitation in the equipment and reservoir and then reduction of oil production rate and water injection rate. ...
